Rochester Book & Paper Fair coming Sept. 6
Times change! Things change! The venerable Rochester Antiquarian Book Fair, 50+ years old, has a new name: The Rochester Book & Paper Fair, a name that takes into account the ways reading, collecting, buying, appreciating books and all kinds of paper have changed. We are now in the business of denying that we are in a fusty business and eager to attract a wider audience.
We will have dealers in general used books that are real bargains, new books which are coming alive in Rochester again, genuine antiquarians with rare, scholarly and unusual literary material, and all kinds of other paper: posters, photographs, postcards, broadsides, prints. Rochester is, after all, Image City, as well as home to an assortment of important colleges and universities. My bookshop on East Ave. is now 27 years old and relies heavily on students and faculty of many intellectual disciplines.
The book fair will be held on September 6, 2025 in the Dome Arena at the Monroe County Fair and Expo Center in Henrietta, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Discount admission cards will be available here shortly. Watch this space. If you would like me to send one to you when they’re available, send me an email (franleef@aol.com) or call the bookshop (585-325-2050).
